SHAH ALAM: A taxi driver paid a police officer to locate Altantuya Shaariibuu, four or five days after she went missing. Fourth witness Uuriintuya Gal-Ochir said the cabbie, Ong Ah Hoon, gave an undisclosed amount of money to a police inspector at a station on Oct 23 or Oct 24 last year.

This prompted judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin to ask whether the policeman was Inspector Mohd Faizol Azuhan Che Omar, the officer whom she had identified as to have seen outside Abdul Razak Baginda’s house on Oct 20.

Uuriintuya said the taxi driver was not outside Razak’s house, but that the money was given to him at another location on a different date.

DPP: Do you know then why the taxi driver gave the money?

Witness: To find my friend, Altantuya. The money was from Burmaa Oyunchimeg (Altantuya’s cousin).

DPP: Do you know the taxi driver?

Witness: Yes, he is a bald-headed man. (Ong comes into court for her to identify him.)

DPP: He is not bald.

Witnesss: No, what I meant was his hair was thinning at the back.

DPP: Did the taxi driver give money to the police officer whom you had identified earlier?

Witness: Yes.

Uuriintuya also told the court that on the afternoon of Oct 19, Altantuya had lodged a police report.

DPP: Why did Altantuya lodge a police report?

Witness: Balasubramaniam and Suras were trailing us and Razak wanted to kill us.

Earlier, Uuriintuya told the court that she, Namiraa Gerelmaa and Altantuya went to Razak’s house between 7pm and 8pm on Oct 19 in a taxi driven by Ong.

She said private investigator P. Balasubramaniam was outside the house and he told them that Razak was not at home.

She said they returned to Hotel Malaya where they had been staying but Altantuya insisted on returning to Razak’s house in the same taxi.

Uuriintuya said they contacted Balasubramaniam several times after Altantuya went missing and he told them that Altantuya had left in a taxi.

She said they then called Burmaa, who was in Hong Kong, to inform her that Altantuya did not return from Razak’s house.

Namiraa lodged a missing person’s report in the evening of Oct 20 on the advice of the hotel manager.

The witness said she, Namiraa and Ang Chong Beng, the private investigator hired by Altantuya, went to Razak’s house around 9pm on Oct 20.

She said Ang asked Razak’s security guard the whereabouts of Altantuya, but soon, two police patrol cars arrived outside the house. Balasubramaniam had also arrived in a black Mercedes Benz.

"The policemen told us to leave the place."

At this juncture, the DPP asked whether she could identify any one of the policemen who were outside Razak’s house on Oct 20.

DPP: Did you see him? (Faizol was called in for identification purpose.)

Witness: Yes, he was outside Razak’s house. I also saw him in a police station. (She could not say which police station.)
