KUALA LUMPUR: The suspect who was nabbed for the multiple stabbing of clerk Lee Hui Fun last Friday, had also left another casualty.

The man in his 30s, had together with an accomplice, severely beaten up a taxi driver in Jalan Selayang and hijacked his vehicle, last Wednesday morning — two days prior to the latest incident.

The victim, in his 40s, was left by the roadside, before he was taken to Selayang Hospital by passers-by. He is still being warded there and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Shakaruddin Che Mood said the suspect, who has a previous conviction for motorcycle theft, had then disguised as a taxi driver to rob Lee.

"We will wait until she recovers from her ordeal, before recording her statement.

"She needs time to recover as she had suffered seven stab wounds on her back," Shakaruddin said after visiting Lee at the Intensive Care Unit of the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM), yesterday.

Lee, 33, was found bleeding and unconscious by the road side at Jalan Maktab in Cheras, about 9.40am last Friday. She had boarded a taxi from her house in Pandan Indah to the LRT station, before heading to her office in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

That was when she was robbed and assaulted.

She was found by policemen on patrol duty and rushed to HUKM.

The suspect, from Kuala Kangsar, was nabbed in Jalan Pahang on Saturday afternoon, by members of the public and car repossessors who had come to seize the vehicle for outstanding loan payments.

He was handed to the police after bloodstains were found inside the car. Police later recovered credit cards and a medical card belonging to Lee from the vehicle.

"We are looking for another man in his 30s, to assist investigations," said Shakaruddin.

Lee's mother, Koh Siew Lian, 60, said Lee was in a stable condition, although she was too weak to talk.

"When I met her, she scribbled on my palm, telling me not to worry.

"She's still traumatised by the incident and can't sleep well at night," Koh said.

Koh thanked policemen and passers-by who helped administer first aid when Lee was found.
