Men tie taxi driver, rob vehicle

Police are searching for two Fijian men who robbed a taxi driver before taking off in his vehicle.

Assistant Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said three men boarded a taxi at McDonalds in Suva on Saturday afternoon and asked the driver to take them to Domain.

At Domain, they tied the driver up and drove the vehicle to Colo-i-Suva where they dumped the driver in bushes.

The driver managed to untie the ropes and escaped to alert Police about the incident.

Police pursued the vehicle which they caught up with at Walu Bay.

At Walu Bay, two of the men managed to escape and the third suspect, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested and questioned by Police.

The three allegedly stole $300 from the driver which they shared amongst themselves.

Investigation into the incident continues.
